About Us
Our Story
The Rights Defense Initiative (RDI) was founded in response to the urgent need to protect victims of conflict in Syria. At a time when countless voices were silenced, we began as a small group of committed human rights defenders determined to document violations, offer support, and keep the hope for justice alive.
What started as a modest initiative has grown into a recognized foundation, trusted by victims, civil society groups, and international partners alike.
Our Vision
To see Syria as a society governed by transitional justice, founded on the principles of civil peace, coexistence, and the protection of human rights. A society where victims obtain justice, bridges of trust are built among its diverse communities, leading to a more stable and equitable future.
Our Motto: Justice for Victims and Accountability for Perpetrators
Our Principles
- Neutrality: We are not affiliated with any political, military, religious, or ethnic party.
