Women’s leadership and active participation are fundamental pillars for building sustainable peace and advancing economic and social recovery.
The Rights Defense Initiative Association (RDI) announces,
in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Syria (UNDP),
with support from the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF),
and in cooperation with implementing partners (Women for Peace Organization, Akkaz Organization, Feminist Organization, and Roni Paywand Organization),
the launch of the Community Women Mediators Network for Peace and Recovery Project. The project aims to provide an inclusive platform built on women’s capacities, experiences, and initiatives, and to support their leadership and influential participation in decisions related to peacebuilding and economic and social recovery in the Raqqa and Jazira regions. It also seeks to expand the participation of young women, women with disabilities, as well as displaced women, returnees, female heads of households, and survivors of violence, in a way that ensures equitable access to opportunities, resources, and services, takes into account women’s diverse choices and experiences, and preserves their dignity and privacy
