Rights Defense Initiative (RDI), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Syria (UNDP) and with support from the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), is implementing the project “Community Women Mediators Network for Peace and Recovery.”
Mechanism for Selecting Network Members and Beneficiaries
To ensure a transparent and fair selection process, 15 consultative and introductory sessions will be organized in Raqqa and the Jazira/Hasakah region, according to the following phases:
- Consultation and Introduction: Presenting the project’s objectives and listening to the views of women and community stakeholders regarding participation needs and the factors that should be considered in the selection criteria.
- Adoption of Criteria: Drawing on the outcomes of the sessions to finalize clear and unified selection criteria, which will be announced before the registration period opens.
- Registration and Evaluation: Receiving and reviewing applications in accordance with the announced criteria, conducting individual interviews when needed, while maintaining the confidentiality of personal information.
- Adoption of Results: A diverse committee with relevant expertise will evaluate the applications, with the participation of the Rights Defense Initiative and monitoring by the United Nations Development Programme in both Hasakah and Raqqa, documenting the results and avoiding any conflict of interest.
Only accepted applicants will be contacted directly to be informed of the results and next steps within a maximum of 25 days from the end of the registration period.
