- Women’s leadership in mediation, peacebuilding, and community dialogue: Establishing and training a network of 110 women, and building on their experience, strengths, and local knowledge to enhance their capacities in community mediation, dialogue management, and conflict prevention, and to contribute to developing peaceful and sustainable solutions to local challenges.
- Advancing women-led initiatives and economic opportunities: Introducing participants to the findings of the market assessment and available economic opportunities, and discussing their viability, requirements for success, and potential for sustainability — helping them make informed decisions that align with their interests, capacities, and aspirations. The project will also encourage exploration of diverse and promising economic fields, including non-traditional ones, moving beyond limiting women’s options to specific stereotypical professions, while taking into account the suitability of opportunities to the local context.
- Enhancing knowledge of rights and safe access to services: Strengthening referral and coordination networks to facilitate safe and confidential access to legal, health, and psychosocial support services, in line with women’s needs and choices, while preserving their dignity and privacy and upholding the do-no-harm principle.
The project is implemented by the RDI rights Defense Initiative, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme @UNDP.Syria, with support from the Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund @WPHFund, and in cooperation with implementing partners (Women for Peace Organization, Akkaz Organization, For Feminist Organization, and Roni Peywend Organization).
